Question Bank

Information around the question bank.

In a question bank, you can create questions per course or course category and use them in quizzes, for example. Questions created in quizzes automatically end up in the question bank of the course.

The question bank can be found at the top in the menu bar under the title. Depending on the context, it is located in the first level or under "More".

Question titles can be customized inline using the pencil icon.

Columns

Among others, there are the following columns: 

  • Status: You can define in which status a question is (Ready or Draft). Questions that are in Draft status cannot be used in a quiz.

  • Version: Every time you save a question, a new version is created.
    • Click on "Edit" > "History" if you want to view the different versions in an overview.

    • In a quiz you can set which version of a question you want to use. By default, the last version at the time of the quiz is always inserted.

  • Comments: For each version of a question, people with editing rights can write a comment.
    • Click on the number in the column to open the question comments. In this view you can use the drop-down menu to view the comments for each version, add new comments or delete your own.

    • The column always displays the number of comments on the most recent version.
    • This information is not visible to students.

  • Needs checking? - Here, based on question statistics, an indication is displayed whether the question needs revision. By statistics is meant an algorithm in the background based on the answers or the performance of the students.

  • Last used: This column shows when the question was last attempted by students.

  • Usage: After clicking on the number you can see in which activity and in which course the question was used. Using the drop-down menu at the top, you can again switch between the different versions.
